Volunteers of America Michigan (VOAMI) is seeking a motivated, organized, and solutions-focused Store Support Systems Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our thrift store locations. This role is ideal for a retail professional who enjoys variety and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You'll partner with store leadership to support operations, maintain store technology, analyze performance data, ensure operational compliance, and provide leadership coverage when needed. No two days are the same, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems and helping teams succeed.
What You'll Do Retail Operations Support the daily operations of multiple thrift store locations.Conduct store visits and operational audits to ensure company standards are consistently met.Assist with merchandising, inventory flow, production, customer service, and operational improvements.Support the rollout of new initiatives, promotions, and operational programs.Help maintain clean, safe, and organized store environments. Leadership Support Serve as Acting Store Manager during vacations, leaves of absence, vacancies, or other staffing needs.Assist with onboarding and training new store managers and leadership staff.Coach store teams on operational procedures and company expectations.Promote a positive, professional, and customer-focused culture. POS & Store Technology Manage and troubleshoot POS systems, registers, scanners, receipt printers, and other store technology.Coordinate with IT and vendors to resolve equipment and system issues.Support software updates, pricing updates, and user access.Train store teams on POS procedures and basic troubleshooting. Security, Compliance & Reporting Support store camera and surveillance systems and assist with operational reviews and investigations when needed.Ensure compliance with company policies, cash handling procedures, safety standards, and loss prevention practices.Generate and distribute operational and financial reports, including KPI reporting, Agency Dashboard, Comms Data, Red Flag reports, and POS exception reporting.Monitor store performance, identify trends, investigate discrepancies, and recommend operational improvements., At Volunteers of America Michigan, our thrift stores do more than serve customersthey help fund programs that strengthen individuals, families, and communities across Michigan. Requirements
High school diploma or GED.Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.Driving record that meets company insurability requirements.Ability to travel regularly between store locations.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in retail and warehouse environments., Associate's or Bachelor's degree.Two to five years of retail management or multi-store support experience.Experience with POS systems, retail technology, and operational reporting.
