Job description
The Sentinel Hardware Design Integration Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer will develop requirements, verification methods, model-based subsystem/assembly definitions, and assembly description documents (e.g. theory of operations) for a set of ground-based hardware assemblies. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with their IPT enabling the end-to-end development and validation of integrated assemblies. Hardware Design Integration Systems Engineers become product SMEs and assist the Hardware Design RE with technical guidance at the systems level and technical support at the product design level.
Specific duties include:
- Flow down and tailor requirements to specific integrated assemblies/groups
- Create meaningful verification methods for requirements and integrate those requirements with design and test plans.
- Develop and deliver highly tailored MBSE artifacts to hardware design and architecture teams (including feedback of design details that update/modify MBSE artifacts)
- Understand and implement best practices for DOORS and Cameo modeling.
- Maintain and improve systems engineering artifacts relevant to integrated assemblies and installations for accuracy and consistency
- Collaborate with cross-functional IPT and provide technical guidance regarding system design to the IPT.
This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Systems Engineer level (level 3) or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer level (level 4).
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in STEM and 5 years of experience, 3 years of experience with master's degree, 0 years of experience with PhD.

Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years

Ability to obtain Special Access within a reasonable period as determined by the business needs of the company.

1-2 years of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and using MBSE to decompose and define system/product functionality

1-2 years of experience in evaluating/writing requirements, decomposing functionality.

1-2 years of experience implementing Systems Engineering processes and procedures to improve effectivity and efficiency of product design including modification of methods for using MBSE tools such as DOORS and Cameo

1-2 years of experience with DOORS and Cameo.

Benefits & conditions
Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
