Job description
- Technical Leadership: Act as the primary authority on Design for Reliability (DfR) for critical electro-mechanical plant subsystems that support our battery plant, mentoring peers and guiding cross-functional design failure analyses (DFMEAs).
- Translate high-level product goals into rigorous reliability requirements. You will define the roadmap for how we validate component and sub-system lifetimes.
- Design and lead complex experiments to uncover failure mechanisms, determine root causes, and establish methods to accelerate failure rates in test. Tests will focus on industrial control panels for outdoor power electronics, and their associated subcomponents.
- Be a champion for safety.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering or related field with 7+ years of industry experience
- Demonstrated expertise in developing new tests to evaluate performance and/ or reliability of electrical and electromechanical systems
- Experience with outdoor power electronics or industrial control panels (including their actuators, fans, and fluid systems)
- Familiar with developing accelerated lifetime tests to assess component reliability across a range of operating conditions
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills within a group of peers and the broader organization, including remote team members
