Network Security Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to support a large-scale firewall migration project for a client based in Brussels. The successful candidate will play a key role in migrating the existing firewall infrastructure to Fortinet FortiGate while ensuring security, performance, and minimal disruption to business operations., * Plan and execute the migration of existing firewalls to Fortinet FortiGate solutions.

• Analyze the current network security architecture and define migration strategies.
• Configure, deploy, and optimize FortiGate firewalls.
• Migrate and validate firewall policies, NAT rules, VPNs, and security configurations.
• Troubleshoot network and security issues during and after the migration.
• Perform testing, validation, and performance tuning.
• Produce technical documentation, migration procedures, and operational handover documents.
• Collaborate closely with infrastructure, network, and security teams to ensure a smooth project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.

• Proven experience as a Network Security Engineer.
• Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls.
• Previous experience delivering firewall migration projects.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs)
• VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN)
• Network security principles and best practices
• Firewall policy management and NAT
• Experience with troubleshooting complex network environments.
• Fortinet certifications (NSE/FCP/FCSS) are considered a strong advantage.
