Job description

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and jobs, primarily using Databricks
  • Building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines in cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS)
  • Working with Databricks Jobs, pipelines, Unity Catalog, and Databricks Asset Bundles
  • Collecting, cleaning, transforming, and loading data for analytics and reporting
  • Developing data solutions using Python, PySpark, and Pandas
  • Applying strong engineering practices, including unit testing and code reviews
  • Working in a professional data environment with data governance, CI/CD pipelines, and Git integration
  • Collaborating within Agile/Scrum and DevOps teams
  • Contributing to the optimization of data platforms in terms of performance, scalability, and reliability

Requirements

  • A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable role
  • Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, including Jobs, pipelines, Unity Catalog, and Asset Bundles
  • Solid programming skills in Python, including experience with PySpark and Pandas
  • Experience working in data-governed environments, including CI/CD, version control (Git), and automation
  • A background in software development or computer science is a strong plus
  • Affinity with and knowledge of mathematics and statistics
  • Familiarity with Scrum, Agile, and DevOps ways of working
  • A proactive, positive, and eager-to-learn mindset
  • Fluency in English and Dutch is a bonus
