Are you looking for your next exciting career move? British Transport Police have an excellent opportunity for a First Line Support Engineer to join the Control Rooms and Visual Services team. As a First Line Support Engineer, you will provide proactive technical support to maintain the operational integrity of BTP's CCTV infrastructure and associated systems. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external providers, you will diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, helping to ensure the availability and reliability of critical visual services across the Force.
What you'll be doing:

Providing first-line technical support for CCTV systems, PCs, laptops and associated infrastructure within the department.

Diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, network and CCTV-related issues, including liaison with external service providers

Supporting remote server infrastructure, carrying out daily system checks and helping maintain high availability of critical services.

Working with Technical Support Engineers and the Head of Visual Services Network and Infrastructure to implement new hardware, software and infrastructure improvements.
Requirements

A Bachelor's degree, HND in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Previous experience in a technical support, IT support or service desk environment.

Knowledge of IP and analogue CCTV systems, including fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.

Understanding of Windows Server environments, networking principles and network protocols.

Strong problem-solving, prioritisation and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, Vetting: Successful applicants will be required to pass Management Vetting (5 years minimum UK residency required), including a full background and financial disclosure.
