Senior ServiceNow CMDB / ITOM Technical Consultant
We are seeking a hands-on Senior ServiceNow CMDB / ITOM Technical Consultant to support a focused CMDB improvement programme. Working alongside architects, product owners, and technical teams, you will help enhance CMDB data quality, Discovery, Service Mapping, integrations, automation, reporting, and remediation processes.
Location: UK-based, with onsite presence in Cambridge two days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, develop, and troubleshoot ServiceNow CMDB and ITOM solutions.
- Improve CMDB data quality, addressing duplicate, stale, orphaned, and incomplete CIs.
- Support CMDB Health, dashboards, reporting, and remediation activities.
- Manage and troubleshoot Discovery, MID Servers, credentials, schedules, and patterns.
- Validate Service Mapping and CI relationships for key services.
- Enhance identification, reconciliation, and data management processes.
- Develop automations using Flow Designer, Business Rules, Script Includes, Transform Maps, Import Sets, and scheduled jobs.
- Support integrations and data ingestion from enterprise systems and cloud platforms.
- Analyse CMDB data to identify quality issues and remediation priorities.
- Collaborate with technical and operational stakeholders to implement improvements.
- Produce technical documentation and support knowledge transfer.
Essential Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB administration, configuration, and data quality improvement.
- Expertise in ITOM Discovery, including MID Servers, credentials, scheduling, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Service Mapping and CI relationship management.
- Knowledge of CMDB Health, remediation activities, and governance best practices.
- Understanding of IRE, reconciliation rules, identification rules, CI classes, and relationship models.
- Experience with Import Sets, Transform Maps, Data Sources, and data normalisation.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting and automation tools.
- Experience with REST/SOAP integrations, IntegrationHub, or Service Graph Connectors.
- Strong data analysis skills using ServiceNow reporting and tools such as Excel, Power BI, or SQL.
- Experience working within Agile or structured delivery environments.
