Job description
Our client is building out a Databricks-based data lake and creating an internal data marketplace that will allow analysts and business users to discover, understand, and request access to data products. They are looking for a techno-functional leader who can help shape that experience, connect Databricks into the broader enterprise stack, and drive coordination across the internal teams needed to bring it to life. This role is a strong fit for someone who understands data platforms and integrations, but who also knows how to gather requirements, work across stakeholders, and help move an emerging initiative from concept to execution.
Why This Role Stands Out
- Opportunity to help build an internal data marketplace from the ground up.
- High-visibility work across Databricks, security, governance, BI, and business-facing teams.
- Blend of technical, functional, and stakeholder-facing responsibility.
- Chance to influence how data is discovered, accessed, and used across the organization.
Top Responsibilities
- Help define and stand up the internal data marketplace experience within Databricks.
- Partner with internal teams to support integrations across Databricks, SailPoint, Collibra, and the BI stack.
- Gather business and technical requirements and translate them into a clear path to execution.
- Support configuration of the Databricks Discover experience to improve data product discovery and access workflows.
- Work across governance, security, analytics, and platform teams to align priorities and dependencies.
- Help shape metadata standards, data definitions, and other elements that improve discoverability and usability.
- Bring a user-focused mindset to how analysts and business teams interact with data products.
- Drive work forward in a new and evolving environment with limited structure already in place.
Requirements
- Experience working in Databricks environments, especially around data lake, catalog, or access-related initiatives.
- Strong understanding of platform integration work across enterprise data tools.
- Background in data architecture, metadata, governance, cataloging, or data discovery.
- Ability to operate in a techno-functional capacity, bridging technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Experience leading cross-functional workstreams and driving progress in ambiguous environments.
- Strong communication skills and presence working with multiple internal teams.
