Job description

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm (hours may vary, overtime may be necessary) Report to: ITAD Manager, We are looking for a qualified Computer/Laptop Resale Technician to sort and repair computers and networks. As a Resale Technician you must be well-versed in computer systems and network functions. The ideal candidate will be able to work diligently and accurately and will possess a great problem-solving ability in order to fix issues and ensure functionality., Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Sort, testing, refurbish/repair and assemble products (this includes, but is not limited to painting; fixing scratches, dents, and dings; replacing covers and face plates)
  • Set up hardware and install and configure software and drivers
  • Maintain and repair technological equipment (e.g. routers) or peripheral devices
  • Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality
  • Keep records of repairs and fixes using testing log
  • Organize and maintain incoming inventory, current inventory and outgoing inventory
  • Stock material neatly in designated areas
  • Manage data containing equipment per company policy; ensure security procedures are always followed
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks such as sweeping and picking up trash to maintain a clean and tidy work space
  • May assist Shipping & Receiving personnel with preparing and packaging of resalable equipment per company procedure and industry standard
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Regular, predictable attendance
  • Adhere to all quality and safety practices and procedures including participation in safety training identified and assigned by IRT

Requirements

  • High school education or GED required; associates degree in IT, Computer Programming or related program that is completed or in progress is a plus!
  • Minimum of 1+ year of experience working in an industrial environment
  • Minimum of 1+ year of experience sorting, testing or assembling electronic equipment is a plus!

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of computer systems and components
  • Proven experience as a computer technician or similar role
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Ability to read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
  • Ability to wear protective paint respirator for extended amounts of time
  • Ability to work with hand tools, whether manual or power
  • Ability to multi-task while managing time efficiently
  • Extremely detail-oriented and accurate
  • Must have excellent communication, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to be on time and ready to work scheduled shifts
  • Ability to work and hit deadlines in a high energy, fast paced environment
  • Must be a reliable team member and safety orientated
