Systems Engineer III

Senior Systems Engineer role operating ServiceNow's critical developer platforms: enterprise GitLab (3,000+ users) and JFrog Artifactory across commercial and regulated market environments. Work independently on complex infrastructure challenges and drive operational excellence. What You Will Do:

• Operate GitLab and Artifactory platforms with high availability across multiple datacenters
• Execute upgrades, security patching, and infrastructure modernization with minimal downtime
• Manage GitLab Geo replication, PostgreSQL HA clusters, and Artifactory Hub/Edge architectures
• Build observability dashboards using Grafana, Prometheus, and Splunk, and establish SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs
• Implement GitOps patterns and support Kubernetes migrations
• Develop automation for self-healing and automated remediation
• Collaborate cross-functionally on migrations and architecture decisions
• Participate in an on-call rotation and drive MTTR reduction

• BS in computer science or equivalent experience
• 5+ years operating enterprise-scale platforms
• 3+ years of GitLab self-managed administration with Geo and HA
• 3+ years of Artifactory administration with Hub/Edge architectures
• 2+ years of operational Kubernetes experience with Helm or Helmfile
• 5+ years of Linux administration experience with RHEL or CentOS
• Relevant certifications - AWS/Azure/GCP associate or professional, CKA/CKAD
• PostgreSQL HA cluster management experience; Patroni preferred
• Experience with load balancers such as F5 or NGINX, DNS, TLS, and network troubleshooting
• Monitoring experience with Grafana, Prometheus, and Splunk
• Automation experience with Ansible, Puppet, Python, and Bash
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and artifact promotion
• FedRAMP IL4 or IL5 experience preferred
• Strong collaboration skills and a continuous learning mindset

Preferred

• JFrog Xray and GitOps experience, including ArgoCD or Flux
• Supply chain security experience, including SBOMs and image signing
• Policy-as-code experience with OPA
• Cloud platform experience across AWS, Azure, or GCP

Minimum bar

• Do not forward a candidate who fails any of these:
• 1 year hands-on public-cloud infrastructure experience (absolute floor for IC3).
• Production experience, not just lab/dev/coursework - has built or operated infra that real workloads depend on.
• Hands-on infrastructure-as-code exposure (Terraform or equivalent).
• Multi-resource / multi-environment scale - has worked beyond a single VM or a single personal account.
