Job description
We are seeking a Systems Engineer Consultant to work in a customer-facing role supporting SWS/Navy programs. This position focuses on the initial stages of the Systems Engineering V model, which includes requirements and definition. The successful candidate will be embedded in the customer environment and is expected to operate as a trusted technical partner., * Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable requirements, deliverables, and manage large-scale requirements sets across multiple programs.
- Author and refine Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and detailed system documentation.
- Support system decomposition, requirements traceability, and interface definition.
- Collaborate directly with Navy/DoD stakeholders and communicate effectively at both technical and customer levels.
- Own and drive complex technical issues to completion with minimal oversight., Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI): We may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support parts of our hiring process, including sourcing, screening, and evaluating candidates. Requirements
Refining Visionary Operations Innovation Communication Technical Acumen Technical Issues Systems Engineering Systems Integration Relationship Building Artificial Intelligence Requirements Traceability Engineering Design Process Interpersonal Communications, * Strong experience with requirements development and systems engineering lifecycle (V-Model).
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume, detail-heavy engineering workstreams.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust in customer environments.
- Active Secret Clearance., * Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience or 10+ years supporting SSBN operations or as a US Navy sailor.
- Experience supporting Navy programs (NAVSEA, SSP, DoD).
- Experience in weapon system integration or mission systems.
- Experience operating in customer-embedded or advisory roles.
- Familiarity with ICDs and interface-driven system design.

This is a Contract position based out of Rockville, MD. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
