Job description
Reports To: Computer Supervisor EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: As soon as possible PRIMARY PURPOSE: To install and repair computers, printers, and related equipment for the district. The person will work closely with Technical Services personnel and all other departments for the district., Pick-up, delivery, installation and repair of computers, printers and computer related equipment belonging to the district Diagnosis and troubleshooting of network device connections that might include using a port analyzer to determine if equipment is seeing the correct VLAN and/or network segment Make ready classroom technology for start of school annually Track labor hours and completed work in Munis work order system maintaining daily records of work accomplished Troubleshoot and diagnose peripheral technology that is connected to a computer. This might include document cameras, magnetic card readers, various types of scanners, printers, copiers, 3D printers, CNC routers, CNC plasma cutters, automotive diagnostic computers, medical diagnostic equipment (EKG analyzer) Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and best practices for correcting functional issues Working knowledge or familiarity with the installation and troubleshooting of district specific software suites that are vital to operations in MISD. This includes but is not limited to: InTouch Ticketing (Point of Sale system),Primero Expresspoint (Food Services Point of Sale), Papercut (Enterprise print-server solution), Destiny resource and equipment database, Skyward (records database), Adobe Creative suite, SCCM imaging and remote access, Apple Remote Desktop, JSS (Apple and IOS device management suite), and HM ordering Some technicians will also need to specialize in additional software suites vital to District operation but are limited to specific facilities and departments: ComputerRX (Pharmacy software), EClinicals (Electronic medical records, Soren Phone systems (Hearing impaired ADA compliance phone system), AutoCAD, NepTunes (Athletic event licensed music), Dragon Naturally Speaking (voice-computer interface suite), Hudl Athletics suite, Finish Lynx (track and field), Grammarly, TTS scanning (Science inventory), Abas testing suite, DRC (bi-lingual testing), Wide Orbit suite (Radio station operations), RouteFinder PLUS, ForeSight Pro, Sensorview (HVAC), and Bluebeam (Construction Services), Project lead during technology deployments usually dependent on campus assignment and personnel involved WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands: Able to work in a high pressure environment Assigned five or more campuses or facilities that will require careful logistics planning Physical demands/environmental factors: Able to work overtime if needed Able to lift at least 60 pounds regularly The foregoing statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills that may be required.
Requirements
Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED Valid Texas driver's license Special Knowledge/Skills: Have working knowledge of Windows, MacOS, IOS, Android, and ChromeOS Ability to troubleshoot Ethernet and wireless networking issues in a Windows Active Directory environment Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot a wide variety of computer software Ability to diagnose and repair a diverse range of computer/mobile device hardware Highly organized, detailed oriented and able to work within a high-pressure environment Possess working knowledge of inventory systems and work order ticket systems Basic Troubleshooting of Audio/Video peripherals (projectors, large televisions document camera) Possess effective communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills Experience: Have demonstrated successful hardware and software experience with PC and Macintosh computer repair Prefer experience in Enterprise network environment troubleshooting basic network issues
