Job description
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Network Engineer to join our innovative IT team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the development of resilient, scalable network solutions that drive our business forward., * Design, deploy, and optimize wide area networks (WAN), local area networks (LAN), and data center infrastructure to meet organizational needs.
- Configure and manage network security devices including firewalls (Cisco ASA), intrusion detection systems (IDS), VPNs, and Cisco ISE for access control.
- Implement and troubleshoot network protocols such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, IPsec, and QoS to ensure reliable data transmission.
- Maintain and support network equipment including Cisco routers, Meraki switches, Juniper devices, VMware vSphere environments, and cloud security solutions on AWS and Azure.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments using tools like Splunk, SolarWinds, PRTG, and SolarWinds to identify and mitigate security risks.
- Oversee network installation projects, perform system troubleshooting, and support system administration tasks across various operating systems including Windows, Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS), BSD variants, macOS, and Solaris.
- Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash shell scripting, PowerShell, or Ansible to streamline network management processes.
- Monitor network performance with tools like Nagios or PRTG; perform capacity planning; implement load balancing; ensure high availability; support disaster recovery strategies in data centers.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts including routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), switching (Ethernet), VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NAT, VPN configuration (IPsec & SSL), and network architecture design.
- Proficiency with Cisco networking hardware such as routers (Cisco routers), switches (Meraki), ASA firewalls; familiarity with Juniper equipment is a plus.
- Strong understanding of network security principles including PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), LDAP authentication systems like Active Directory, GPO management, encryption techniques, and vulnerability assessment methodologies.
- Experience managing IT infrastructure in cloud environments like AWS or Azure; knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Citrix is desirable.
- Skilled in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation; familiar with DevOps practices and SDLC processes for seamless deployment cycles.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues involving load balancing devices; system troubleshooting skills across multiple operating systems including Windows Server environments and Linux distributions like CentOS or openSUSE.
- Knowledge of telecommunication systems including VoIP protocols; experience supporting remote access software solutions like SSH or SFTP is advantageous.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or PRTG; understanding of ITIL best practices for service management; experience with network documentation standards is preferred.
