Job description

  • Manages36employees acrossfivedistinct work centers inside theCySC.
  • Worksdirectly for theChief of Operations and Government Service Owners(GSO)to deliver top-notch customer service andrespond to the dynamic needs of the user base to meet the diverse missions of the Air Force in the NationalCapitalRegion (NCR).
  • Ensures24/7/365mission coverage, to include acting as the 844 CG's central command and controlhubduring continuityand emergencyoperations.
  • Provides oversight for Major Incident Response covering 20K customers and 70K assets across 4 main operating bases and 28 geographically separated units in a 300-mile radius around Washington DC.
  • Deliverstimely,accurate, and informative situation reports (SITREPs)to key stakeholdersfor any event, system, capability, customer, or buildingidentifiedin theGuide for Escalation, Incident Characterization & Outages (GEICO).
  • Guides the regional IT Service Desk, providing first call resolutionand coordination withbackshopsin4 squadrons on JointBaseAndrews,JointBaseAnacostiaBolling, Pentagon, and Site.
  • Ensures network monitoringfor the Air Forces' classified and unclassified networks in the National Capital Region,leverageseveral tools to include SolarWinds andSystem Center Operations Manager(SCOM).
  • In collaboration withGSOs, manages command and control forIT services, collaborating withpeer critical operationcenters such as the Regional Command Post,National Military Command Center, Air ForceWatch,Air Force Crisis Action Team(AFCAT),and Joint Air Defense Operations Center (JADOC).
  • Develops, coordinates, and releasesNotices to Airmenregardingservicedegradations, changes,andmaintenanceimpactingthe user experience.
  • Executes the844 CG'sCommander's Critical Information Requirement (CCIRs)process, ensuringseniorstakeholdersare informedof keyevents and risks.
  • In conjunction with the MAJCOM Coordination Center (MCCC), actsas a liaison between the 844CG work centers and supporting external service providerssuch as theAFIN Mission Assurance Center (AMAC)and associated Network Operations Squadrons,End User Monitoring Operations Center (EUMOC),Headquarters Cyberspace Capabilities Center (HQ CCC),Air Force Life Cycle Management Center(AFLCMC),Defense Information Systems Agency(DISA)J6,andDISA Global.
  • Utilizes excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to be able to effectively document solutions, obtainrequirements from customers, and brief senior stakeholders.
  • Maintains the Common Operating Picturefor aleadersystem and mission statusrollup
  • Leadsand synchronizesdailymeetings, providing up-to-datesystem statuses,authorized service interruptionstimes,and upcomingstrategic eventschedules.
  • Oversees the 844 CG's Change Management process,ensuring all changes are reviewed, authorized, and tracked until completion.

Requirements

  • Requires a BS degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or aMaster'sdegree and 10+ years of prior relevantexperience,additionalyears of experience, certifications, specific Air Force IT systems experience accepted in lieu of adegree.
  • 10+ years' experienceoperatingAir Force IT systems and services or similarDoWIT systems and services.
  • Familiarity withDoWand Air Force standards, policies, and enterprise solutions.
  • Experience with complex, multi-siteDoWenterprise IT environments of the size, scale, and scope of the AFNCR enterprise.
  • Experienceworking ina Network Operations Centerand/or on a major incident response team.
  • Able to obtain aDoWSecret Clearanceprior to start date.
  • Meets the training, education, and/or certification requirements for the DoW's 8140 cyber workforce management framework., * Experience running a Network Operations Center and/or major incident response team.
  • ActiveDoWSecretClearanceor above.
  • Able to obtain a DoW Top Secret Clearance.
