Job description
Uses some independent judgement and familiarity of the field to perform work. May provide input into the development of policies and procedures. May be responsible for administration of moderate complexity departmental programs., The Information System Data Specialist is responsible for supporting information systems by maintaining employee system data, ensuring accuracy and integrity of the information entered, researching, and resolving customer questions, monitoring automated processes, and creating and maintaining standard operating procedures. This includes processing of all hires, changes in position, pay and fund assignment, terminations, and other related records that are maintained within the system. Prepares and distributes a wide variety of weekly/monthly reports as scheduled ensuring confidentiality requirements are maintained.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities

Evaluates non-complex to moderately complex employee position, pay and fund information, stipend assignments, and supplements to prepare for data entry into ERP system. Processes and completes data entry of all requested changes within all deadlines ensuring employees are setup accurately for pay and funding.

Prepares reports from various systems and productivity software to include system of record for routine activities applying general knowledge of statistical data.

Collaborates and participates in the Forecast and Activation process applying general knowledge and skill level.

Provides exceptional customer service to employees by responding to questions, escalating issues as needed to Level 1 Specialist as needed.

Collaborates with Talent Partners and Administrators to reconcile staff allocations according to campus/department assignments and processes changes within aggressive timelines.

Reviews and provides input into the development of Work and Non-Duty Day Calendars for the new school year applying general functional knowledge.

Prepares, distributes, and tracks return of all contractual documentation, letters, and notices as required.

- Provides guidance to lower-level team members as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional
accrediting agency)
- 1+ years of full-time work-related experience to include:
o Experience working with confidential data o Experience working with numbers (i.e., compensation, finance, budgets, etc.)
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee
(approximately $50.00) paid by the employee
Preferred Requirements
- 3 years' experience working with Information Systems to include:
o 3 years' experience working with employee compensation, payroll, finance, budgets, etc. o 2 years' experience working with SharePoint sites (creating and/or maintaining) o 3 years' experience working for a public-school district in a related function (compensation,
human resources, finance, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent knowledge of routine office procedures to include customer service, telephone etiquette,
efficient and effective filing and record keeping procedures.
- Strong aptitude for working with numbers.
- Excellent Attention to Details Skills.
- Process oriented mindset.
- knowledge of campus unit allocations.
- Strong customer experience working knowledge of excel, including mail merge, functions such as
VLOOKUP, Concatenate, If/then, etc.
- Working knowledgeable of business tools (i.e., Outlook 365 and other online tools); SharePoint site
management.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with diverse groups of individuals utilizing tact and
diplomacy.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Working Conditions Work Environment:
- Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, teacher resource materials and, * Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines and prolonged or
irregular hours; Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing; Occasional: Lifting and carrying 10-25 pounds frequently, 25-40 pounds occasionally, more than 45 pounds infrequently with assistance; Pushing/pulling 10-35 pounds sporadically; May be required under specific circumstances to provide physical restraint of students in danger of causing harm to themselves or others; Frequent districtwide and occasional statewide travel.
