IT Applications Leader

Are you a strategic technology leader who thrives at the intersection of business and IT? We are looking for an experienced IT Applications Leader to oversee the strategy, governance, implementation, and support of enterprise applications that drive operational excellence across our organization.

This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for building strong partnerships between business stakeholders and technology teams while ensuring that critical SAP and non-SAP applications effectively support company priorities. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, project leadership, vendor management, and business acumen to deliver scalable solutions that improve performance, efficiency, and user experience.

As a key contributor within the IT organization, you will work closely with executives, business leaders, project sponsors, subject matter experts, and third-party partners to lead application initiatives, optimize existing systems, and support continuous improvement across the enterprise.

What You'll DoApplication Strategy & Leadership

• Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT for enterprise application initiatives.
• Develop and maintain strategic technology partnerships that align business needs with application solutions.
• Research, evaluate, recommend, and implement software applications that support organizational objectives.
• Establish governance, standards, and best practices for application management and support.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, security, and effectiveness of business-critical applications.

Project & Program Management

• Lead SAP and non-SAP application projects from planning through implementation and support.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, risks, and deliverables.
• Drive consistency in project management methodologies and execution across initiatives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize projects, and deliver business value.
• Provide regular project updates, status reporting, and executive-level communications.

Application Support & Continuous Improvement

• Oversee application installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and performance monitoring.
• Partner with business teams to identify opportunities for process optimization and system enhancements.
• Analyze operational challenges, gather requirements, and deliver effective solutions.
• Ensure users understand system functionality and leverage applications to their full potential.
• Lead application lifecycle planning, including upgrades, integrations, and future technology roadmaps.

Vendor & Budget Management

• Manage relationships with software vendors, consultants, and third-party service providers.
• Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate solutions that support business objectives.
• Oversee application-related budgets, expenditures, contracts, and resource planning.
• Ensure cost-effective technology investments while delivering high-quality outcomes.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• 5+ years of experience in an Applications Manager, IT Applications Lead, or similar technology leadership role.
• 5+ years of experience supporting Cloud and SaaS-based business applications.
• 3+ years of SAP project management experience.
• Proven experience managing enterprise application implementations and support activities.
• Strong understanding of application governance, system integrations, and business process improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing application vendors and third-party technology partners.
• Knowledge of enterprise systems supporting operations, finance, engineering, quality, and supply chain functions.
• Project Management certification or formal project management training is a plus.
