Job description
ETL Architecture & Migration
- Design, enhance, and optimize complex ETL pipelines using IBM DataStage (parallel/server jobs and job sequencing).
- Support the modernization and migration of on-premise jobs into IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D), including code refactoring and validation.
- Apply Master Data Management (MDM) principles to guarantee data quality, governance, and consistency across systems.
Automation & Environment Management
- Write Unix/Linux shell scripts to manage file systems, monitor background processes, and troubleshoot runtime issues.
- Utilize Python and XML to build automation into data transformations and end-to-end workflows.
- Develop complex SQL queries for efficient data extraction, validation, and performance tuning across relational databases.
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work closely with Data Architects, DBAs, and analysts within an Agile framework to support sprints and code deployments.
- Perform root-cause analysis on pipeline failures and ensure absolute compliance with data security standards.
Requirements
We are seeking a senior-level Data Warehouse Architect / ETL Developer to spearhead a critical enterprise data modernization initiative. This contract role focuses on migrating mission-critical data pipelines from on-premise IBM DataStage to IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D). The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in ETL architecture, parallel processing, and Linux environments with recent hands-on exposure to cloud data platforms to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable data solutions., Skill Category Requirement Years of Exp. ETL Development Advanced pipeline design and tuning using IBM DataStage. 5+ Years Cloud Platform Direct exposure to IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D). 1+ Year OS & Scripting Infrastructure management within Unix / Linux environments. 5+ Years Data Governance Core experience with Master Data Management (MDM). 3+ Years Preferred Qualifications
- Public Sector: Prior experience working within local, state, or federal government agencies.
- Modern Tooling: Hands-on experience refactoring legacy data sequences into modern cloud workflows.
