Requirements

We are seeking a mid-level Embedded Systems Engineer with a strong electrical engineering background to support the design, development, bring-up, validation, and support of low-power connected embedded systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with microcontroller-based hardware, embedded C/C++ firmware development, and Bluetooth-based IoT solutions, and will be comfortable working at the hardware/software interface throughout the product development lifecycle. This role requires close collaboration with hardware, software, mechanical, and systems engineers to develop innovative embedded products from concept through commercialization. This is a full-time contract-to-hire position based on-site at our Hauppauge, NY office., * Requires a Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

  • 5-10 years of experience designing and developing embedded electronic systems
  • Strong experience designing, debugging, and integrating microcontroller-based electronic systems, including ARM-based platforms such as STM32, NXP, Silicon Labs, AVR, DSP, and PIC devices.
  • Proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming, low-level firmware design, and firmware verification, analysis, and optimization for microcontroller-based systems.
  • Experience developing bare-metal or RTOS-based firmware
  • Experience with BLE and Bluetooth based IoT communication protocols
  • Knowledge of IoT communication protocols such as Wi-Fi, Zigbee, and 4G/5G cellular
  • Experience developing firmware for low-power, battery-operated systems and performing power consumption analysis.
  • Strong understanding of digital, analog, and mixed-signal circuit design principles.
  • Experience supporting hardware bring-up, design verification, and troubleshooting of embedded electronic assemblies.
  • Strong understanding of microcontroller peripherals and interfaces including I²C, SPI, GPIO, ADC, DAC, CAN, UART, PWM, and timers.
  • Ability to read, review, and troubleshoot electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and component datasheets.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and debugging electronic systems using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, and related laboratory equipment., * U.S. Citizenship
  • Experience designing microprocessor and microcontroller subsystems, including power management, clocking, reset circuitry, memory interfaces, and communication architectures.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools, preferably Altium Designer.
  • Experience developing and refining technical requirements, architecture documentation, and design specifications in a client-facing environment., * Embedded software: 5 years (Required)
