Job description

Escher GuneWardena Architecture is an internationally published, design driven, creative, small "open office" work environment located in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles with an immediate opening for a Junior Designer with 2 to 5 years of experience. The designer would assist a senior project manager in work phases from schematic design through construction documents.

Current projects include custom residential, commercial, museum exhibition design projects, and historic preservation of modernist icons in the Los Angeles region., Responsibilities: Work closely with Principals and Senior Project Manager in Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents Phases; Develop accurate physical and virtual three-dimensional models of projects (using Revit, and other 3d Software); Help to prepare drawing packages under the guidance of senior personnel. Applicant should be a self-motivated person able to work independently and efficiently with minimal direction. Demonstration of graphics/design sensibility of work samples compatible with the aesthetics of the firm will be a determining consideration.

Requirements

  • Professional Degree in Architecture (minimum B. Arch or equivalent).
  • Strong visual presentation skills with rendering skills using 3D modeling software.
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Autocad required. Ability to create BIM content required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Photoshop and/or Illustrator.
  • Good communications skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Good organizational skills - including scheduling and correspondence.
  • Attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of architectural building systems with ability to ability to create structural, mechanical and other engineering drawings under guidance of senior personnel.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. immediately upon selection.
