Job description
We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure platforms supporting mission-critical environments.
This role is ideal for a senior engineer with expertise in Kubernetes, OpenShift, DevSecOps, and CI/CD automation who enjoys enabling development teams through modern platform services, infrastructure automation, and cloud-native technologies.
You'll work alongside software engineers, cybersecurity professionals, and operations teams to deliver reliable, secure platforms that support critical applications and mission objectives.
What You'll Do
- Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift environments
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting containerized application delivery
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security; troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Develop platform automation, self-service capabilities, and operational tooling
- Partner with development, security, and operations teams to improve platform reliability and usability
- Support DevSecOps best practices throughout the software development lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with security and governance requirements
- Collaborate within SAFe Agile teams and contribute to technical planning and solution design
- Provide operational support for production environments, including periodic on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- Willingness and ability to obtain a CI Polygraph
- U.S. Citizenship
- 14+ years of professional experience in technology, infrastructure, systems engineering, or platform engineering
- Hands-on experience with:
- Kubernetes
- Red Hat OpenShift
- DevSecOps environments
- Docker, CRI-O, or other container technologies
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as:
- Jenkins
- GitHub Actions
- GitLab CI
- Experience supporting open-source and custom application deployments
- Strong troubleshooting and operational support experience
- Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical experience, * Experience supporting classified or mission-critical environments
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as:
- Terraform
- Ansible
- CloudFormation
- Experience supporting cloud platforms and hybrid environments
- Knowledge of Kubernetes security and container hardening best practices
- Experience working in SAFe Agile organizations
