Job description

The Systems Administrator II is responsible for advanced administration, maintenance, and support of enterprise systems and network infrastructure supporting manufacturing operations. This role ensures system availability, network reliability, cybersecurity, and performance across production, warehouse, and corporate environments, including support of both IT and OT systems critical to manufacturing continuity., * Administer, monitor, and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers, virtualized environments (VMware/Hyper-V), and hybrid cloud infrastructure.

  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, system backups, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Perform system patching, upgrades, and performance optimization with minimal disruption to production operations.

Network Administration

  • Configure, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and VPNs.
  • Manage LAN, WAN, and segmented manufacturing networks, including VLANs for production, OT, and corporate systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues affecting manufacturing equipment, servers, and end users.
  • Monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization, and latency to ensure production uptime.
  • Implement network security controls such as firewall rules, access controls, and network segmentation.
  • Support remote access solutions and secure connectivity for vendors and remote manufacturing sites.
  • Administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise database systems, with a primary focus on Oracle Database, ensuring high availability, performance tuning, and routine health checks.

Manufacturing & OT Systems Support

  • Support manufacturing IT systems including MES, ERP, inventory control, and shop-floor applications.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Controls teams to support OT systems such as PLCs, HMIs, industrial PCs, and machine networks.
  • Support and manage the Oracle Database backend infrastructure for critical manufacturing IT systems, including MES, ERP, and inventory control applications, ensuring continuous uptime and data integrity.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement cybersecurity best practices across systems and networks, including endpoint protection, intrusion prevention, and vulnerability management.
  • Assist with audits and compliance efforts (ISO, SOC, NIST, or internal manufacturing standards).
  • Monitor system and network logs; respond to security incidents and outages.
  • User & Infrastructure Support
  • Provide Tier II/III technical support for production, warehouse, and corporate users.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues in office and plant-floor environments.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, SOPs, and recovery procedures.
  • Mentor junior IT staff and provide technical escalation support.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-6 years of systems administration experience with hands-on networking responsibilities, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience with Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Experience supporting ERP, MES, or manufacturing-related applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration, including installation, configuration, backup/disaster recovery, and troubleshooting., * Cybersecurity: 2 years (Required)
