Job description
We are seeking an Application Architect III to provide enterprise-level leadership for ATM platforms within a global financial institution. The architect will define long-term ATM channel strategy, target state architecture, and multiyear roadmaps aligned to business growth, cost optimization, risk management, and customer experience goals. The role guides modernization of ATM ecosystems, balancing legacy platform stability with innovation while ensuring resilience, security, and regulatory compliance. The architect will act as a trusted advisor to senior technology and business leaders, driving standardization, vendor strategy, and investment decisions that enhance availability, scalability, and operational efficiency across the ATM fleet., * Define and own ATM channel target architecture, strategy, and multiyear roadmaps.
- Lead modernization of ATM ecosystems across hybrid environments while maintaining stability and compliance.
- Advise senior leaders on standards, vendor strategy, and investments to improve availability and scalability.
- Design platform architectures leveraging containers, Kubernetes/OpenShift, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Ensure resilience, security, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across the ATM fleet.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver solution designs and reference architectures.
- Mentor engineers and promote best practices for hybrid deployments and real-time systems.
Requirements
- 7+ years in technology architecture and solution design, including 3+ years of hands-on software engineering.
- Proven ability to operate at SVP/executive level and influence technology strategy and standards across large organizations.
- Strong communication skills with technical and executive audiences.
- Background in platform architecture, solution design, and hybrid on-prem and cloud deployments.
- Proficiency with containers, Kubernetes/OpenShift, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and mentoring capabilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in regulated industries such as financial services.
- Prior ATM and/or Payments experience, including ATM software platforms (e.g., EuroNet, NCR, Diebold Nixdorf or equivalent), transaction processing, switching, and ISO 8583 messaging.
- Experience with high-availability, real-time, distributed systems.
- Knowledge of cloud integration in regulated environments.
- Relevant architecture, cloud, or security certifications (TOGAF, AWS, Azure preferred but not required).
