Job description
The Website Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Johnson University's website. Working closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications, Creative Director, and external partners, this position ensures the website is accurate, engaging, and supports the University's enrollment and marketing initiatives. The Website Manager serves as the primary administrator of the website while developing repeatable processes that keep website content current and effective., Website Management
- Manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the University's website.
- Create, edit, and update webpages using the University's content management system, WordPress.
- Ensure website content is accurate, current, and consistent with University branding and style guidelines.
- Maintain website navigation, page organization, and overall site quality.
- Monitor website functionality and coordinate technical issues with internal staff and external vendors., * Partner with the Marketing & Communications team to publish website content supporting admissions, academics, advancement, and University initiatives.
- Build and maintain campaign, event, and enrollment landing pages.
- Coordinate website updates requested by campus departments.
- Assist in implementing recommendations from external website partners.
- Collaborate with the Creative Director and the Academic Marketing Liaison to conduct quarterly reviews of academic program webpages and implement approved updates., * Apply SEO best practices, including page titles, meta descriptions, image alt text, and internal linking.
- Monitor website performance using Google Analytics and other reporting tools.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve website usability, search visibility, and user engagement.
- Develop and manage recurring processes that proactively identify website improvement opportunities, including content audits, analytics reporting, SEO reviews, and page evaluations.
Collaboration & Project Management
- Work closely with the Creative Director to implement website priorities.
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketing & Communications, Academic Marketing Liaison, creative team, and campus partners on website initiatives.
- Serve as a contact along with the Creative Director for day-to-day liaison with external website vendors and consultants.
- Maintain a prioritized backlog of website improvements and enhancement requests aligned with University marketing priorities.
Professional Development
- Stay current on website best practices, accessibility standards, SEO, analytics, and emerging web technologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Marketing & Communications Office.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Web Design, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with a content management system (WordPress preferred).
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals and Google Analytics.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and continuously improve digital skills.
