Job description
Translucent Services is seeking highly experienced and skilled Systems Administrators Level 2 and Level 3 to join our dynamic Linux Center of Excellence & Automation team in Maryland. These critical roles will be responsible for providing secure STE/STN Linux-hardened images to the Agency across various platforms including C2E, MachineShop, eVo, and CMI6. The successful candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Linux environments, a strong understanding of security best practices, and a proven track record of managing complex systems within programs and contracts of similar scope and type.
Clearance: An active TS/SCI with a full-scope polygraph is required for this position*
Duties:

Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.

Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring & problem resolution for all the client/server/storage/network devices, etc.

Configure and manage Linux (this experience is primary) and Windows, install/load operating system software and patches to maintain security compliance, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components; and implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability & performance.

Support the design of systems, mission architecture, and associated hardware.

Patching and updating Linux distributions regarding security findings.

Adding / Removing users and setting permissions to meet certain user privileges.

System monitoring for health and status with monitoring tools like NAGIOS.

Working with STIGs and fixing/update vulnerabilities with STE/STN findings.

Renew Linux server certificates and apply updates to TLS security versions.

Experience working with ISSOs during SCA (security control assessment) testing to go through over 400 SCTM (security controls traceability matrix).

Working with automation software such as ANSIBLE to streamline updates and patching.

Updating documentation such as SOPs with problems and solutions for the team's knowledge base on Confluence.

Experience working with VMWARE is helpful.
Requirements
- 15 years relevant experience as a Systems Administrator & Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. OR 5 years of additional Systems Administrator experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree., * High school or equivalent (Preferred)
