The Boeing Company is looking for Embedded Software Engineers (Experienced or Senior) to join the AvionX Mission Systems Software team located in Long Beach, California. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Technology & Innovation Software Engineering organization.
Our engineers create systems to help pilots navigate through complex and nuanced situations to safely achieve their mission. We accomplish this by solving difficult problems in optimal path planning, estimation, and control, as well as autonomous fault protection.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced or Senior Level Software Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
- Supports the design, development, test, debugging and maintenance of software that is integrated into embedded devices and systems and meets industry, customer, safety and regulation standards
- Assists with review, analysis, and translation of customer requirements into the design of software products for embedded devices and systems
- Supports building and writing code for embedded systems software to run on specific specialized hardware
- Contributes to integration of embedded software with hardware components
- Supports analysis, monitoring and improving the efficiency and stability of embedded software systems
- Participates in testing and debugging software for embedded devices and systems
- Supports implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and changes in regulations relevant to software development and hardware technologies
- Supports tracking and evaluation of internal and supplier software team performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards
- Assists with performing embedded software project management functions
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree or higher
- Active US Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
- 3+ years of experience in embedded software development, * Level 4: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 9+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 13+ years of directly related work experience OR 17+ years of related, relevant experience
- Experience do you have in Matlab/Simulink
- Experience developing software for motion planning, estimation, and/or control
- Experience developing software for real-time, near real-time, or embedded systems
- Experience automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations using a DevOps tool chain
- Experience leading software development projects using Agile development methodologies, This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee., Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Required, This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Summary Pay Range Experienced(Level3) : $135,150 - $182,850
