Job description
Under the direction of the District Technology and Network Administrator, the Network and Computer Technician provides technical support for the District's technology infrastructure, including computers, networks, servers, phones, audiovisual systems, and related software. This position assists with maintaining secure, reliable technology systems while providing timely technical support to staff and supporting daily district operations., * Provide technical support to district staff by responding to help desk requests and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install, configure, maintain, and support computers, servers, network equipment, printers, mobile devices, and audiovisual equipment.
- Assist in maintaining the District's local and wide area networks, wireless infrastructure, internet connectivity, and network security.
- Support district phone, voicemail, keycard access, email, filtering, backup, and other technology systems.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of technology equipment, including tagging new equipment, updating asset records, removing obsolete devices, and conducting annual inventory.
- Assist with software deployment, licensing compliance, system upgrades, and technology implementation projects.
- Assist in maintaining data backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Supervise, train, and support summer technology staff and student workers.
- Collaborate with the District Technology and Network Administrator on daily operations, special projects, and long-range technology planning.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and district technology policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
- Maintain a safe, professional, and substance-free workplace.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
- Frequent movement between district buildings.
- Occasional lifting and installation of technology equipment weighing up to 80 pounds.
- Occasional work outside regular business hours to support technology upgrades or emergencies.

Requirements
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Network Administration, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and server hardware/software.
- Experience managing Windows, Chromebook, and Apple devices.
- Knowledge of Google Workspace administration.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune and Entra.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of network infrastructure, wireless networking, and data backup procedures.
- Knowledge of audio/visual equipment and cabling.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and community members.
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 80 pounds., * Dell hardware certification or equivalent.
- Experience managing switches, firewalls, and Power over Ethernet (PoE) equipment.
- Experience installing and maintaining network and telephone cabling.
- Knowledge of VoIP phone systems.
- Experience repairing and maintaining laptops and other end-user devices.
