The Amazon Publisher Monetization (APM) team is shaping the future of monetization across Amazon's ad-supported publishers - Prime Video, Twitch, Fire TV, Amazon Stores, and Audio. Our mission: build Earth's most customer-centric advertising services., Design, develop, and optimize data models and end-to-end data pipelines across APM's publisher data, leveraging AWS services (such as Redshift, EMR, Airflow, Kinesis, Lambda) and internal Amazon tools
Drive architectural decisions for data solutions within a unified modeling framework that serves both human analysts and AI-powered analytics agents, balancing short-term delivery with long-term scalability
Define and implement data quality standards across the datasets you own by building automated monitoring, investigating anomalies, and driving root-cause resolution with minimal guidance
Partner with business stakeholders to deeply understand their decision-making needs, translating ambiguous requirements into trusted, well-modeled data products
Lead the design of next-generation APM data architecture to improve scale, quality, timeliness, coverage, monitoring, and security while influencing team-wide technical direction
Support and mentor other engineers on data engineering best practices, code quality, and system design principles
A day in the life
As a Data Engineer on our team, you'll focus on architecting and maintaining the data pipelines and models that support our publisher monetization platform. You might spend your morning collaborating with analytics and business intelligence teams to understand evolving data requirements, then transition into designing schema improvements or optimizing query performance for our data warehouse. You'll work alongside software engineers to integrate new data sources, partner with product teams to validate data quality, and participate in design reviews where you'll help shape how we approach complex data challenges. Your work directly impacts the reliability of insights that business teams depend on to make strategic decisions about advertising inventory and publisher partnerships.

We are the APM Agentic Insights team, building scalable intelligence that delivers fast, accurate, and actionable insights across Amazon Publisher Monetization. Our mission is to create Earth's most customer-centric advertising services by ensuring that every insight delivered to business teams is grounded in reliable, well-modeled data. We work across organizational boundaries with data engineers, business intelligence engineers, scientists, and product teams to solve complex problems at scale. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years of data engineering experience
- 2+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using ETL/ELT processes experience
- 2+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using data modeling experience
- 1+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using SQL experience
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
- Experience working on and delivering end to end projects independently
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence, * Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
- Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring other engineers for best practices on data engineering
- Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
- Knowledge of distributed systems as it pertains to data storage and computing

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
