Job description
Our client is seeking a Building Systems Technical Lead to serve as the internal technical subject matter expert for building systems and low-voltage infrastructure on mission-critical data center projects. Working alongside Project Managers and Construction Managers, this role provides technical oversight throughout installation, integration, commissioning, and turnover. Rather than performing day-to-day installations, you'll ensure systems are installed correctly, meet project specifications, resolve technical challenges, and are successfully delivered to the client., * Serve as the technical SME for building systems and low-voltage infrastructure throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical oversight of structured cabling, fiber and copper infrastructure, building monitoring systems (BMS), power monitoring, environmental monitoring, access control, CCTV, and other building technologies.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, submittals, testing documentation, commissioning reports, and turnover packages.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, subcontractors, system integrators, OEMs, and client representatives to resolve technical issues and maintain project quality.
- Support commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), cutovers, operational readiness, and final system acceptance.
- Validate installation quality and ensure compliance with project standards and client requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship while serving as the primary escalation point for building systems-related issues.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience with building systems, controls, low-voltage infrastructure, systems integration, or mission-critical facilities.
- Experience supporting data centers or other high-availability environments.
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optics, copper infrastructure, and IP-based building technologies.
- Experience with building monitoring systems (BMS), power monitoring, environmental monitoring, access control, CCTV, or similar systems. (Experience with Johnson Controls or similar building automation platforms)
- Experience reviewing construction documents, commissioning activities, and technical turnover packages.
- Strong leadership, communication, troubleshooting, and coordination skills.
