Job description

Candidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person interview, which may include a live whiteboarding or technical assessment session.

EchoStar is navigating a complex digital transformation that requires harmonizing business strategies with advanced technology execution across OSS/BSS, cloud-native architectures, and network domains. This role addresses the critical challenge of designing and governing a cohesive, standards-based enterprise architecture framework that eliminates operational silos and modernizes legacy infrastructures. By integrating autonomous AI agent frameworks and machine learning models, this position solves key inefficiencies in network optimization and automated workflow decision-making. Ultimately, this strategic leadership ensures that technology investments are rationalized, scaled, and directly aligned with measurable business outcomes.

What Success Looks Like (Objectives)

  • Lead the development and implementation of an enterprise AI architecture strategy to accelerate digital transformation and optimize network operations
  • Design, train, and deploy advanced ML models and autonomous AI agent frameworks to automate intelligent workflows and solve complex operational challenges
  • Establish robust architecture governance frameworks, standards, and reference architectures that ensure strict compliance with TOGAF and TM Forum Frameworx principles
  • Define target-state OSS/BSS architecture roadmaps to transition the organization toward autonomous operations and seamless customer experiences
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leadership, solution architects, and engineering teams to embed standardized architecture patterns and drive technology portfolio rationalization

Requirements

  • Strong skills in applying TOGAF Architecture Development Method and TM Forum Frameworx to model complex telecommunications and cloud-native architectures
  • AI application and innovation capabilities to design autonomous multi-agent orchestration systems using modern platforms such as AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or Databricks
  • Critical experience designing enterprise-scale integrations, API strategies, and event-driven architectures across OSS and BSS domains
  • Excellent strategic thinking and stakeholder influence to lead architecture review boards and drive technology rationalization across diverse business units
  • Comprehensive knowledge of master data management, security architecture frameworks, and regulatory compliance standards like PCI-DSS and SOC 2, * Familiarity with Zachman Framework, FEAF, or other enterprise architecture frameworks
  • Experience with ArchiMate modeling language and comprehensive business capability mapping
  • Knowledge of security architecture frameworks such as SABSA or NIST and operational risk management, * Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum Experience: 12 years of enterprise architecture experience, including at least 5 years in telecommunications or mobile network operators
  • Required Technical Skills: Must have at least 5 years of experience with:
  • TOGAF Architecture Development Method (ADM)
  • TM Forum Frameworx (eTOM, SID, TAM)
  • Enterprise architecture modeling tools (Sparx EA, Ardoq, LeanIX, or equivalent)
