Job description

We're looking for an Industrial Vision & Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and transforming ideas into robust industrial solutions.

This role combines industrial vision, software engineering and automation. From selecting the right optics and illumination to developing inspection algorithms, operator interfaces and machine software, you'll contribute to every stage of the development of our systems.

Tasks

Your mission

  • As part of our engineering team, you will design and develop complete industrial vision solutions integrated into automated machines.
  • You will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of vision applications, from feasibility studies and hardware selection to software development, validation and commissioning.

Industrial Vision

  • Analyse customer requirements and assess technical feasibility.
  • Design complete machine vision solutions for inspection, measurement and guidance applications.
  • Select and integrate cameras, optics, lighting and vision sensors.
  • Develop robust 2D and 3D image processing algorithms.
  • Design and deploy AI-based inspection algorithms when appropriate.
  • Calibrate, validate and optimize complete vision systems.
  • Commission, tune and troubleshoot prototype and production machines.
  • Analyse false rejects and process instabilities, implementing corrective actions.
  • Define validation procedures and participate in FAT.

Software Development

  • Develop modern web applications for machine configuration, production monitoring and operator interfaces.
  • Develop software modules interacting with industrial cameras, PLCs, robots and automation equipment.
  • Design maintainable and scalable software architectures.
  • Develop engineering tools for testing, diagnostics and validation.
  • Contribute to software quality through testing, documentation and code reviews.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools while maintaining engineering excellence.

Requirements

  • 3-7 years developing industrial vision systems for special-purpose machinery, industrial automation or custom machine manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with Keyence, Cognex, HALCON or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of optics, illumination, industrial cameras and image acquisition.
  • Python development.
  • Industrial software (PLC) and modern web application development.
  • Autonomous, analytical and collaborative.
  • Fluent English..
  • 100% on site in Ecublens (VD).
