Day-to-day responsibilities include defining and implementing the technology roadmap, overseeing software architecture and development, and coordinating product iterations from prototype to scalable solution. The role involves close collaboration with founders and cross-functional partners to align technology decisions with user needs, clinical requirements, and business objectives. The CTO will manage technical projects, ensure robust security and data protection, establish development best practices, and support the growth of a high-performing engineering team as the startup scales. Requirements
Management skills, with the ability to prioritize, plan, and deliver technical milestones in a startup or innovation-focused environment. - Experience with cloud infrastructure, APIs, and security and privacy best practices, ideally in health tech or related regulated domains. - Background in conversational AI, speech or language processing, or machine learning is highly beneficial. - Ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical stakeholders, communicate complex topics clearly, and contribute as a co-founder to strategic decisions. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Comfort working in a hybrid setup in Bilbao, with a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset and commitment to improving the lives of older adults.
