Job description
The Senior Manager Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures. The role involves working closely with data Owners, IT, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure data availability, quality, and accessibility for analytics, reporting, and advanced data use cases. Highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to take on a hybrid role that is both hands-on technical and consulting oriented.
- Design, build, and optimize data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from multiple sources (SAP, Salesforce, APIs, flat files, cloud platforms, etc.).
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across the data lifecycle.
- Implement and manage data models, warehouses, and lakehouse solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Monitor and improve data pipelines for scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and governance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
- Automate repetitive data engineering tasks and adopt DevOps/DataOps best practices.
- Work closely with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data stack tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related discipline.
- Over 6 or more years of hands-on experience in data engineering, data integration, or related fields.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing data pipelines, data models, and data platforms.
- Strong exposure to consulting client-facing roles, working with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience with enterprise systems (SAP, Salesforce, ERP, CRM) and complex data migration projects.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Scala/Java for data engineering and automation.
- Deep expertise with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, SAP Data Services, Talend, dbt, Azure Data Factory).
- Strong knowledge of data warehouse and lakehouse architectures (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse).
- Experience with big data frameworks (Apache Spark, Kafka, Hadoop).
- Familiarity with data governance, lineage, and cataloging tools (Collibra, Alation, Purview).
- Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM/MDG).
- Practical expertise with cloud platforms and their native data services.
- Industry experience in regulated sectors (Pharma, Healthcare, Finance, or Manufacturing) is an advantage.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities, with the capability to simplify technical solutions for business leaders.
