Azure Devops Engineer

We are partnering with an organisation undertaking a significant Azure infrastructure modernisation and migration programme. They are looking for a hands-on Senior Azure Cloud / Platform Engineer to lead the design and delivery of a hub-and-spoke network transformation, resource-group consolidation, and the migration of containerised, AI-powered applications to a hardened, well-governed Azure environment.

This is a delivery-focused contract for an engineer who is equally comfortable in the network layer, in Terraform, and in the CI/CD pipeline - someone who can take a migration from architecture through to a validated, secured production cutover.

What you'll be doing

• Designing and refactoring Azure networking: VNets, VNet peering, NSGs, route tables, Private Endpoints, Private Link, DNS resolution, Application Gateway and Load Balancers.
• Leading a hub-and-spoke transformation, network consolidation, and resource-group consolidation across environments.
• Building and maintaining infrastructure as code in Terraform (expert level), with Bicep where required.
• Deploying and operating containerised workloads on Azure Container Apps, including blue/green deployment strategies.
• Integrating Azure AI & data services: Document Intelligence (ADI), Azure AI Search, Azure OpenAI, Cosmos DB and PostgreSQL.
• Implementing identity and security controls: Managed Identities, RBAC, Key Vault, Private Endpoints and Zero Trust principles.
• Building multi-environment YAML DevOps pipelines, service connections and release/deployment strategies.
• Supporting hybrid connectivity (VPN, ExpressRoute) and firewall rule design.
• Running post-migration security reviews and validation.

• Deep, hands-on Azure networking experience (VNets, peering, NSGs, route tables, Private Endpoints/Link, DNS, App Gateway, Load Balancers, firewall rules).
• Expert-level Terraform and working knowledge of Bicep; comfortable with infrastructure migration and refactoring.
• Proven experience with Azure Container Apps and blue/green deployments.
• Strong grasp of Azure AI & data services (ADI, AI Search, Azure OpenAI, Cosmos DB, Postgres).
• Solid identity & security background: Managed Identities, RBAC, Key Vault, Zero Trust.
• DevOps delivery: YAML pipelines, service connections, multi-environment deployments.
• Application development in Python / FastAPI: API deployment, authentication flows, OpenAPI/Swagger, containerisation.
• Demonstrable architecture & migration experience: resource-group consolidations, hub-and-spoke transformations, network consolidation, application migrations and infrastructure modernisation.
