Job description
One Identity's OneLogin team is seeking Senior Software Engineers who operate with high ownership, strong technical judgment, and a bias for action. These roles are designed for engineers who identify and solve problems proactively - not just execute assigned work. Senior Engineers at OneLogin are expected to operate as T-shaped engineers: deep in a primary domain while remaining capable across the stack (backend, APIs, cloud, and operations). You will play a key role in maintaining product velocity, improving system reliability, and reducing operational burden. This is a hands-on role that includes on-call responsibilities and requires a strong commitment to modern engineering practices, including AI-augmented development. We are looking for engineers who take full ownership - design, build, test, deploy, and operate - rather than handing work off between silos.
In this role, you will focus on designing and evolving testing strategy and automation systems that maximize confidence while minimizing feedback time - eliminating manual QA dependency and improving release safety at scale. Responsibilities: Eliminate manual QA dependency and build scalable automated testing * Design and evolve test architecture and tooling that scales across services and teams
- Design and implement end-to-end, integration, and API test automation
- Own test strategy across services - determine what to test, where to test it (unit vs integration vs E2E), and how to maximize signal while minimizing runtime
- Improve CI/CD confidence and release safety while increasing deployment velocity
- Reduce regression risk through targeted, high-value test coverage rather than brute-force test expansion
- Own test reliability - proactively detect, diagnose, and eliminate flaky or low-signal tests
Requirements
-
Experience with modern test frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, or similar)
-
Strong understanding of testing strategy across layers (unit, integration, API, E2E) and when to apply each
-
Experience optimizing test suites for speed vs coverage (e.g., test selection, parallelization, flake reduction)
-
Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines with a focus on fast feedback loops
-
Experience using AI tools to accelerate testing workflows, including:
-
Using AI to generate, prioritize, and optimize test coverage based on risk and system behavior
-
Analyzing test failures and flaky patterns at scale using AI-assisted tooling
-
Accelerating test maintenance, refactoring, and gap detection
-
Ability to use data (incidents, logs, usage patterns) to continuously refine and prioritize test coverage
-
Experience with API and contract testing
Qualifications:
Software Engineering
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership of features, quality, or system-level initiatives.
- Strong backend development experience (Ruby, Node.js, or similar).
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, service contracts, and software design principles.
- Experience working across backend services, APIs, and production systems.
Quality Engineering
- Experience designing and maintaining automated tests across unit, integration, and end-to-end levels.
- Familiarity with modern testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress).
- Strong ownership of code quality, debugging, and testing strategy, balancing coverage, reliability, and execution time.
Cloud & Production Systems
- Experience building and operating services in AWS or similar cloud environments.
- Good understanding of cloud-native and distributed systems (microservices, scalability, resilience).
- Experience with CI/CD, production debugging, observability tools (e.g., Datadog), and incident response.
On-Call & Reliability
- Willingness to participate in a mandatory 24/7 on-call rotation.
- Experience responding to production incidents and contributing to reliability improvements and postmortems.
AI-Assisted Development
- Experience using, or strong interest in, AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor).
- Ability to review and validate AI-generated code and suggestions.
