Job description
Operating within the Conversational Banking team in Customer Servicing, you'll contribute to the development and operation of Nationwide's Amazon Connect contact centre platform, helping to deliver seamless, high-quality member interactions.
You'll act as a senior engineer within your squad, providing technical leadership, shaping designs and supporting the development of other engineers while collaborating closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters and wider engineering communities.

What you'll be doing
You will lead the design and delivery of robust AWS-based solutions, ensuring alignment with Nationwide standards and best practice while producing clear, high-quality technical designs (HLD/LLD) for both AWS infrastructure and software components.
You will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Nationwide's Amazon Connect platform and support integration with chat and conversational banking services. Working with internal and external stakeholders to evolve the platform in line with business needs will be a key part of this role.
Requirements
As a minimum requirement, you'll have: Hands-on experience with AWS (e.g. compute, networking, security, observability, integration patterns)
Proven experience designing and documenting technical solutions (software and cloud-based)
Experience working in Agile delivery environments
Understanding of engineering best practices (e.g. CI/CD, automation, monitoring, resilience)
Experience supporting and maintaining live services
Experience with Amazon Connect and/or contact centre technologies
Experience working with conversational/chat platforms
