Head of Software Development

• We oversee resource and project management across both our Development and QA functions.
• We manage performance for direct reports, including regular 1-to-1s, annual appraisals, and performance improvement.
• We support team members in their professional development and skill growth.
• We provide monthly progress reports to our CEO and COO.
• We work closely with our Head of Client Services to prioritise fixes and new features.
• We ensure tools such as Jira and TFS are used to a high standard.
• We contribute to our product roadmap.
• We act as an internal escalation point for our on-call support line alongside our management team.
• We actively develop products when needed.
• We split our time approximately 20/80 between development and management responsibilities.

This is a senior role reporting directly to our COO, with overall responsibility for both our Software Development and QA teams. • We require at least 7 years of experience in software development, specifically within financial technology and trading.
• We require strong hands-on experience with C#, C++, SQL, and .NET.
• We require experience as a line manager or mentor for people in technical roles.
• We require strong organisational skills, including managing Jira and similar tracking tools.
• We require a strong technical mindset and a desire to become a product knowledge expert.
• We require strong interpersonal skills and confidence communicating directly with customers when needed.
• We require resilience, a positive attitude, and the ability to persevere through challenging situations.
• We require a university-level bachelors degree or equivalent.
• We prefer candidates with a financial services background, ideally in FX or crypto trading.
