Job description
Pacific Office Automation is looking for an Entry-Level Field Network Technician to join our growing service team supporting the Bend, OR area.
This is a field-based role where you'll travel to customer locations to install, troubleshoot, and support network-connected office equipment and related technologies. If you enjoy solving technical problems, working directly with customers, and learning new technologies, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and device communication issues
- Configure and support network-connected office equipment
- Diagnose hardware, software, and networking problems
- Communicate with customers to identify issues and provide solutions
- Work with both technical and non-technical users
- Document service activities and communicate updates through phone, email, and written reports
- Travel locally to customer locations throughout the service area
Requirements
- Understanding of network connectivity, network security, and Wi-Fi environments
- Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft applications
- Familiarity with networking concepts such as TCP/IP, SMTP, FTP, SMB, and network ports
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (must be 21 years or older)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous field service or networking experience (preferred, not required)
- Experience supporting Windows desktop operating systems
- Experience working with IT professionals or managed network environments
Bonus Qualifications
- Familiarity with Mac OS
- CompTIA Network+ certification
