Defense Technical Recruiting (DTR) is recruiting on behalf of Exigo Corp. Exigo is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support critical national security space programs for the U.S. Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC) in El Segundo, California. This position plays a key role in the design, integration, analysis, and implementation of complex systems supporting next-generation space capabilities., * Serve as the primary engineering interface with Government customers regarding systems engineering technical considerations, risks, issues, and resolutions.
- Analyze user requirements, operational concepts, system requirements, and high-level system architectures to develop effective engineering solutions.
- Support the design, development, integration, and implementation of complex systems supporting space and defense missions.
- Collaborate with software development, cybersecurity, operations, and infrastructure teams to deliver integrated, mission-focused solutions.
- Lead technical projects from concept through implementation while ensuring quality, schedule, and technical objectives are achieved.
- Evaluate system performance, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend enhancements to increase reliability, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including system architectures, configuration documentation, technical procedures, and engineering plans.
- Participate in technical reviews, engineering working groups, and system design discussions.
- Ensure engineering solutions comply with Government requirements, industry standards, cybersecurity policies, and organizational best practices.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and provide technical recommendations to improve system capabilities.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Requirements
The Senior Systems Engineer will work closely with Government stakeholders, program leadership, and cross-functional engineering teams to develop innovative, scalable, and secure system solutions. This role requires a strong systems engineering background, excellent technical leadership skills, and the ability to analyze complex system architectures while supporting the full systems engineering lifecycle.
Candidates with experience supporting satellite communications (SATCOM), ground systems, cryptologic solutions, and Agile software development are highly desired., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline supporting complex Government, DoD, aerospace, or space programs.
- Experience analyzing system requirements, developing system architectures, and supporting system integration efforts.
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools, including Atlassian JIRA and Confluence.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to Government and program leadership.
- Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification such as INCOSE CSEP, Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent.
- Experience supporting Space Systems Command (SSC), U.S. Space Force, Department of Defense, or other National Security Space programs.
- Strong knowledge of Satellite Communications (SATCOM) systems, Ground Systems, SATCOM terminals, or cryptologic solutions.
- Experience supporting the systems engineering lifecycle for space, aerospace, or defense programs.
- Background in cybersecurity principles, secure system architectures, and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Experience working within Agile software development or DevOps environments.
- Familiarity with systems integration, verification and validation, and engineering lifecycle processes.

Pay: $175,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year, * 401(k)
