Job description
Our Client is seeking an experienced Oracle OCI Cloud Engineer to design, implement, administer, and support enterprise Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing Oracle databases, middleware, Oracle APEX, WebLogic, and cloud infrastructure while ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, performance optimization, and security. This role requires a highly skilled Oracle professional capable of supporting production environments, performing database upgrades and migrations, automating administration tasks, and providing after-hours production support as part of an on-call rotation. Note: Candidate must be available to work onsite five days per week and participate in after-hours, weekend maintenance activities, and an on-call production support rotation. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and administer Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments. Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Database 19c and Oracle Database 26ai environments. Administer Oracle Application Express (APEX) 18+ applications and Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS). Configure, administer, patch, and maintain Oracle WebLogic Server 14c and Fusion Middleware. Plan and execute Oracle database upgrades, migrations, and conversions, including upgrades from Oracle 19c to Oracle 26ai. Configure and manage Container Databases (CDB) and Pluggable Databases (PDB). Perform PDB cloning and database provisioning activities. Implement backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery solutions using RMAN and Oracle Data Guard. Monitor database health and performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM). Perform Oracle database patching using Fleet Management tools. Support Oracle Database as a Service (DBaaS) deployments in OCI. Develop automation scripts using Linux Shell scripting and Ansible. Utilize GitLab for source control and deployment automation. Troubleshoot database, middleware, and infrastructure issues in production environments. Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and database security best practices. Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and application development teams. Create technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams. Participate in 24x7 on-call production support and scheduled maintenance activities.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
- 10+ years of experience supporting Oracle production environments with on-call responsibilities.
- 10+ years of experience with Oracle Database backup, recovery, RMAN, and Oracle Data Guard.
- 10+ years of experience performing Oracle database migrations, including Solaris to Linux migrations (Oracle 11g/12c). Strong experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Experience administering Oracle Database 19c and Oracle Database 26ai. Experience upgrading Oracle databases from 19c to 26ai. Strong experience with Oracle Application Express (APEX) 18+ administration. Experience administering Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS). Strong WebLogic Server administration experience, including patching and maintenance. Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 24ai and Grid Control. Experience with Container Databases (CDB) and Pluggable Databases (PDB). Experience with PDB cloning. Experience administering Oracle DBaaS environments in OCI. Strong Linux/Unix administration and Shell scripting experience. Experience using GitLab and Ansible for automation and deployment. Strong Oracle database performance tuning and optimization experience. Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications Oracle Grid Control 13c experience. Oracle WebLogic 12c / Fusion Middleware experience. Windows Server, SQL Server, and IIS Administration. Experience with AWS or Microsoft Azure cloud platforms. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Experience using Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD. Experience with Python and JavaScript scripting. Knowledge of microservices architecture and API integration. Oracle Certifications (OCP, OCIP, OCE) preferred.
