Job description
The Business Intelligence Developer exists to support the College's enterprise reporting, analytics, and data-informed decision-making needs. The role develops and maintains business intelligence solutions, dashboards, reports, data models, and analytical outputs that help campus stakeholders access accurate and useful information. This position works with Enterprise Information Solutions, campus departments, and institutional data sources to translate reporting needs into sustainable BI solutions through Cognos BI. The role also supports modernization of the College's reporting environment through tools such as Power BI, Snowflake, SQL, and other BI/data platforms., * Business Intelligence Development and Reporting:
- Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance enterprise reports, dashboards, visualizations, and business intelligence solutions for academic and administrative departments.
- Data Modeling and Analytics Enablement:
- Build and maintain reporting data models, semantic layers, logical views, datasets, and reusable reporting structures that support accurate, consistent, and accessible analysis.
- Requirements Gathering and Business Analysis:
- Work with campus users to understand reporting needs, clarify business definitions, document requirements, and translate functional needs into effective BI and analytics solutions.
- Data Validation, Quality, and Governance Support:
- Analyze data, validate report results, investigate discrepancies, support approved data definitions, and apply appropriate data security and access practices in reporting solutions.
- BI Platform Support and Reporting Modernization:
- Support the ongoing operation and modernization of BI platforms and reporting tools, including Power BI, Snowflake, SQL-based reporting environments, and legacy reporting systems as needed.
- Analytics Innovation and Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual reporting work, improve self-service analytics, automate recurring reporting processes, and support future analytics, predictive analytics, or AI-enabled reporting initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 3 years of experience in a related field
One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for one year of required education (OR) one year of relevant academic coursework beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted for one year of required professional experience.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:
- $74,262 to $90,972 per year
