Job description
eSquared is looking for an Automation Analyst to help transform the way our business operates through workflow automation, AI, and process improvement.
We're looking for a builder-someone who enjoys solving operational problems, experimenting with new technologies, and creating practical solutions that make work faster, simpler, and more scalable.
In this role, you'll work directly with teams across operations, procurement, logistics, warehouse, and customer support to identify inefficiencies, design automation opportunities, and implement solutions using low-code platforms, AI tools, and system integrations.
This is an individual contributor role with significant visibility across the organization. You'll own automation projects from discovery through deployment while helping shape how automation is adopted throughout the company.
We value curiosity, initiative, and demonstrated problem-solving ability more than traditional credentials or years of experience.
Please note: Candidates must currently reside in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area or be able to commute to our Tempe office on a regular schedule. This position is not remote, and relocation assistance is not available.
What You'll Do
Process Discovery & Improvement
- Observe and document workflows across multiple operational teams.
- Identify repetitive, manual, or high-friction tasks suitable for automation.
- Evaluate operational impact, expected time savings, and business value.
- Recommend scalable improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy.
Workflow Automation
- Build and maintain automations using low-code platforms such as Power Automate, Zapier, Make, n8n, Node-RED, or similar tools.
- Configure workflows within business systems including ERP and customer support platforms.
- Support reporting, integrations, and data movement through light scripting or SQL when needed.
- Leverage AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar LLMs to accelerate workflow design and execution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Translate operational requirements into technical documentation and implementation plans.
- Partner with engineering and system administrators when projects require custom development.
- Test, validate, and support adoption of newly implemented tools and automated workflows.
Project Ownership
- Manage automation initiatives from discovery through deployment.
- Prioritize automation opportunities based on business impact and ROI.
- Track project progress and communicate results to leadership., You don't need years of ERP administration experience-we're more interested in people who enjoy creating useful solutions and can demonstrate technical curiosity through projects they've personally completed.
Examples include:
- Workflow automations
- Dashboards or reporting tools
- Scripts or data cleanup processes
- AI-assisted workflows or prompt libraries
- Power Automate, Zapier, Make, n8n, or Node-RED projects
- Process improvements deployed within a business
- Personal projects that demonstrate initiative and technical problem-solving
Business experience is valuable, but a builder mindset matters more.
Growth Opportunities
This role begins as an individual contributor with no direct reports.
As our automation function grows, there will be opportunities to expand your responsibilities and progress into technical leadership based on demonstrated execution, ownership, and leadership capability.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience building or implementing automation solutions, dashboards, scripts, or other workflow improvements.
- Experience with at least one low-code automation platform.
- Strong systems-thinking and process mapping skills.
- Working knowledge of APIs, JSON, and structured data concepts.
- Intermediate or advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Strong written communication and documentation abilities.
- Practical experience using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar LLM platforms to improve real workflows.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment where new processes are being developed.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is preferred. Demonstrated ability to build and solve problems is more important than years of experience.
Preferred
- Background in operations, supply chain, business analysis, or IT support.
- Experience with ERP platforms such as Acumatica, NetSuite, or SAP.
- Experience with Zendesk or mobile device management platforms.
- Light SQL or Python scripting experience.
- Experience in warehouse, logistics, 3PL, or B2B SaaS environments.
- Exposure to Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
