Job description

This is a full-time senior level technical position that reports to the Division of Information Technology Services, Bureau of Production Systems Services. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is seeking a candidate to join our Windows System Administration team as a Server Systems Administrator. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the agency's on-prem and cloud based Active Directory and VMware environments. Candidates must have a thorough working knowledge of the Windows Operating Server System including roles, duties, and daily performance operations. The position also requires excellent facilitation and customer service skills., Specific duties include: Installing, maintaining, and supporting Windows based servers in FDLE's 24x7x365 datacenter and agency Azure tenant; Installing and supporting VMware virtualization products; Supporting FDLE's Enterprise Backup and Recovery systems; Utilizing automation software such as KACE for patch management activities; Providing after hours on-call for Windows based server systems; Creating and updating of applicable documentation for new and existing Windows based systems; and Must be self-motivated as well as being a technical resource for not only WSA but FDLE.

Requirements

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft network operating systems; Advanced knowledge of Active Directory including schema and database design; Knowledge of SMTP, POP3, MAPI and other protocols related to mail services; Knowledge of Security strategies related to Network Operating Systems; Knowledge of Anti-virus, content filtering, and anti-spam services; Ability to support Internet Information Services; Knowledge of Internet Security and Acceleration Server; Knowledge of computer operations procedures and systems; Knowledge of computer programming languages; Understanding of Project Management methodologies; Understanding of Application development and integration methods; and Ability to prepare program specifications and requirements., FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. The elements of a background include: financial credit check, criminal history of applicant and applicant's immediate family or roommates, personal references, employment and education verifications (which includes official transcript(s)), drug screen and fingerprinting. This information will be utilized to make the final hiring decision.
