Job description
We are seeking a Linux Systems Engineer with experience in Proxmox Virtual Environment (PVE) and Ceph to join our technical support and infrastructure team. In this role, you will provide installation assistance, troubleshooting, monitoring, and technical support using established best practices, advanced support tools, and AI-assisted workflows.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in Linux and open source environments, diagnosing complex infrastructure issues, and communicating effectively with customers while maintaining a strong focus on problem resolution.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and support Proxmox Virtual Environment (PVE) clusters.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Ceph storage clusters.
- Diagnose and resolve Linux server, networking, storage, and virtualization issues.
- Support Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and Ceph storage environments.
- Analyze Linux system logs, journal entries, and performance metrics to identify root causes of issues.
- Configure and troubleshoot Linux networking, including:
- Bonding (LACP)
- Linux bridges
- VLANs
- Routing and gateways
- Assist customers with cluster design, upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery.
- Work with customers worldwide via ticketing systems, remote sessions, and documentation.
- Utilize internal documentation, automation tools, and AI assistants to improve support efficiency.
- Document troubleshooting procedures and technical solutions.
Requirements
- Strong Linux system administration experience.
- Experience with Proxmox Virtual Environment.
- Experience administering or supporting Ceph clusters.
- Working knowledge of:
- Linux shell
- Bash scripting
- Systemd journal and log analysis
- Networking fundamentals
- Storage technologies including Fibre Channel and iSCSI
- Understanding of virtualization concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise virtualization environments.
- Knowledge of Linux performance tuning.
- Familiarity with automation or scripting tools.
- Experience supporting customers in production environments.

Candidates should be comfortable discussing and troubleshooting topics such as:
- Proxmox cluster architecture
- Corosync quorum
- High Availability (HA) design
- Ceph networking
- Linux networking (LACP, VLANs, bridges)
- MTU troubleshooting
- SAN connectivity
- Multipath storage
- UEFI vs. SeaBIOS
- Linux command-line utilities
- Shell scripting fundamentals
