Job description
This CADD Support Analyst position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Division of Engineering and Design. This position serves as a key resource within the CADD Support Unit, specializing in the initial assessment, documentation, and resolution of design technology issues impacting plan production workflows., * Collects, studies, and troubleshoots design/CADD-related issues reported by plan production staff which includes software errors, plotting failures, and workflow inconsistencies.
- Manages records in ServiceNow, Workspace Issue Tracker, and CADD Initiatives Tracker. Analyzes entries to identify trends, recurring issues, and overall system effectiveness.
- Develops and maintains user-facing resources such as knowledge base articles, troubleshooting guides, and procedural documentation.
- Participates in the testing and assessment of new or upgraded CADD software and hardware as directed.
- Assists in the integration of CADD standards into workflows by collecting user feedback, studying deviations, and contributing to alignment strategies.
Requirements
- Three years of experience in collecting, evaluating, studying, or reporting on statistical, economic, fiscal/budget, legislative, or administrative data.
- Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered., * Experience supporting and analyzing software systems or workflows, particularly in civil design environments.
- Familiarity with IT service management tools that align with structured support frameworks (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) and ITIL concepts.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
- User-focused mindset, with the ability to remain composed and solutions-oriented.
- Demonstrates an analytical mindset and initiative in troubleshooting; able to deconstruct complex issues and prioritize follow-up with minimal oversight.
