Job description

Praescient Analytics is seeking a skilled Mid-Level Network Engineer to join our team in supporting the Department of War (DoW) Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office's (CDAO) War Data Platform (WDP)-formerly known as Advana.

The WDP is an enterprise-wide, multi-domain data, analytics, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform providing civilian and military leaders with unprecedented access to secure enterprise data. In this role, you will help sustain and evolve the WDP as the Department's secure, standardized enterprise data integration layer. You will design, implement, and maintain the network infrastructure that underpins hundreds of curated analytics applications, ensuring secure, high-performance, and resilient connectivity across cloud and hybrid environments to accelerate decision advantage across the DoW., * Design & Implementation: Architect, configure, and maintain the WDP System's network infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments; implement software-defined networking (SDN) solutions.

Security & Traffic Management: Establish and manage robust security controls, including firewalls and network segmentation; optimize routing and traffic flows to ensure high performance and strict data protection.

Operations & Monitoring: Continuously monitor network performance; troubleshoot complex routing, switching, and connectivity issues to minimize downtime.

Automation & Documentation: Automate network configurations to streamline operations; build and maintain detailed infrastructure documentation, network diagrams, and asset inventories.

Strategy & Compliance: Conduct proactive capacity planning, ensure strict compliance with federal and organizational security policies, and participate heavily in disaster recovery planning.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in network engineering, infrastructure management, or a related role.

Core Competencies: Strong working knowledge of cloud/hybrid networking, firewall management, routing/switching protocols, and network virtualization.

Required Certifications (Must possess at least ONE of the following):

  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • CompTIA Cloud+
  • GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
  • GIAC Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)
  • GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

Preferred Certifications:

  • CompTIA SecurityX (formerly CASP+)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP Security)
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
  • GIAC Certifications (GCED, GCIA, GCLD, GDSA, or GFACT)
