Job description
- Fundraising Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organization's financial goals.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
- Create and oversee fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives to increase donor engagement.
- Grant Writing and Management
- Research grant opportunities and write compelling proposals to secure funding.
- Manage grant applications, reporting, and compliance to ensure adherence to funder requirements.
- Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and deliverables.
-This will be a shared duty with the Executive Director.
- Donor Relations and Stewardship
- Establish and maintain relationships with current and potential donors, ensuring timely acknowledgment and appreciation.
- Develop and implement strategies for donor retention and upgrading giving levels.
- Organize donor recognition events and communications to highlight the impact of contributions.
- Marketing and Communications
- Collaborate with the volunteer communications team to develop materials that promote the organization's mission, programs, and fundraising efforts.
- Utilize social media, newsletters, and other channels to engage the community and raise awareness about the organization's work.
- Develop compelling storytelling strategies to connect potential donors with the mission of animal rescue.
- Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare regular reports on fundraising progress, donor engagement, and campaign effectiveness.
- Analyze data to identify trends and improve fundraising strategies.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, or related field preferred but is not required depending on experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in nonprofit development or fundraising. It would be strongly preferred if the candidate had previous experience with Capital Campaigns.
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in fundraising software, CANVA, Facebook, Instagram, and CRM systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
-Website content and management abilities. Experience in WordPress and Oxygen is a plus but not required.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.

Certifications:
- Certification in fundraising (e.g., CFRE) is a plus but not required.
