Job description
Translucent Services is seeking a dedicated and skilled Implementation Engineer to join our field services team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing expert on-site installation and upgrade services for data storage platforms to our valued customers. This position will primarily support clients within a 200-mile radius of San Antonio, TX, and will also involve regular air travel for assignments across the United States. You will collaborate closely with our support and account teams, as well as directly with customers, to ensure seamless project execution., * Perform installations of FlashArray and FlashBlade products.
- Perform Non-Disruptive Upgrades (NDUs) on FlashArrays and FlashBlades
- Work closely with Support and other Advanced Services team members to ensure successful array upgrades.
- Perform installation of expansion shelves, data packs, expansion cards, and related hardware.
- Perform capacity consolidation.
- Run assessment calls with customers regarding upcoming NDUs and installations.
- Perform basic knowledge transfer with customers including creation of hosts, host groups, volumes, replication sessions, Fusion enablement's and related tasks.
- Plan travel to customer sites to perform installations and upgrades.
- Perform installation of other Pure hardware or functionality offered by the company now or in the future.
- Strong communication via email, phone calls and slack
- Ability to travel multiple times per week throughout the US to visit customer sites and data centers.
Requirements
- Strong technical skills in the areas of storage, server, and networking technologies.
- Experience with hardware installation and software configuration.
- Experience creating a run book, design workbook, and statement of work.
- Ability to work as a team player and effectively allocate time and resources to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Consultancy experience and customer-facing skills.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong technical skills in storage, server, and networking.
- Experience with VMware, Microsoft Windows Server, and Linux.
- Understanding of storage protocols including FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB, and S3.
- Experience with one or more of the following: Citrix Xen Desktop, VMware, Oracle, SQL.
Required:
- Ability to travel multiple times per week throughout the U.S. to customer sites and data centers, including frequent travel within 200 miles of San Antonio, TX., * An active DoD Top Secret (TS) or Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
- Current and/or former military experience.
- Experience working with government agencies.
- Experience as a System Administrator/System Engineer.
- Experience as a Storage Administrator/Storage Engineer.
- Data Center or "smart hands" experience.
- Linux Administration certification.
