Job description

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, and support to ensure reliable operation of an organization's technology systems. This position serves as a primary point of contact for employees experiencing hardware, software, network, access, and system-related issues.

The IT Support Specialist supports daily technology operations, maintains IT systems, assists with security practices, and helps ensure users have the tools and resources needed to perform their work effectively.

What you'll do

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee technology support requests, providing timely and professional assistance through ticketing systems, remote support, phone, email, and in-person support.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, connectivity, and user access issues while escalating complex technical issues when appropriate.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and support computers, mobile devices, peripherals, software applications, and other technology equipment.
  • Manage user accounts, access permissions, onboarding and offboarding technology needs, and identity management processes while following security best practices.
  • Provide support for Microsoft 365, cloud-based applications, network resources, VPNs, printers, and other business technology platforms.
  • Assist with IT security practices, including endpoint protection, software updates, patch management, data protection, and identification of potential security risks.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, support requests, system changes, troubleshooting procedures, and user resources.
  • Support technology projects, system upgrades, implementations, and process improvements that enhance employee productivity and user experience.
  • Partner with employees, vendors, and technology providers to resolve issues and maintain effective technology solutions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating technical information clearly and creating a positive user experience.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, or related technology roles.
  • Strong understanding of Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or similar productivity platforms.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, cybersecurity principles, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID, or identity management platforms.
  • Experience managing mobile devices and endpoint security tools.
  • Experience supporting cloud applications and SaaS platforms.
  • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or similar.
  • Experience participating in IT projects, migrations, or system implementations.

The pay range for this role is: 60,000 - 80,000 USD per year(St George)
