Job description

The NM Department of Information Technology Enterprise Services program provides the State with the information technology fabric that enables agencies to innovate and excel in their specific domains. The goal of the program is to consolidate services previously duplicated within agencies in order to promote cost savings and efficiencies. This is accomplished through the delivery and management of cost effective and efficient information technology infrastructure services, enterprise applications, and other value-added IT services.

This position reports to the Deputy Director of Operations and is responsible for developing and managing IT related projects, as assigned, within the division. Projects will vary in scope from single agency to enterprise-wide. A significant focus area for this position will be to implement and manage improvements to business processes within End User Services, which encompasses the Help Desk and Desktop Support teams. How does it get done?

  • Create comprehensive project plans, steer projects from initiation to close out.
  • Set realistic timelines and milestones. Setting achievable and measurable milestones to help projects stay on track.
  • Allocate project resources.
  • Stakeholder and management communication to engage and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Draft professional service agreements, amendments, and other procurements that are technically sufficient.
  • Provide in-depth analysis and best practices recommendations for Enterprise Services projects.
  • Work with internal teams, agencies, team members and executive staff to ensure high-quality reports and metrics are available.
  • Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions, translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements, and maintain requirements traceability throughout the project.
  • Develop process maps, gap analyses, and recommendations to streamline workflows and improve service delivery.
  • Monitor project performance using service delivery KPIs and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Partner with internal teams, agencies, and enterprise leaders to drive clarity, remove blockers, and ensure alignment across IT and business functions

All New Mexico state agencies participating in the SoNM Digital Workspace enterprise service.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Computer Science or similar technical major and four (4) years of experience in software development or systems analysis. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience. CAPM certification may be substituted for one (1) year of experience. Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain current ID or Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required, and employment is conditional pending results. Working Conditions

Work is performed mainly in an office setting with extended periods of sitting operating a standard personal computer, repeating the same hand finger motions many times such as typing. Interacting with co-workers and meeting deadlines. Be able to follow written and oral instructions. Occasional work beyond normal working hours may be required. In-state and out-of-state travel may be required.
