Job description

We are seeking an experienced Level 3 Network/Systems Administrator to join our team. This senior technical role is responsible for the design, implementation, security, and ongoing management of our enterprise network and server infrastructure. You will serve as a key technical leader establishing and maintaining compliance with security frameworks and ensuring the reliability and resilience of critical systems., * Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, routers, wireless, and advanced firewall solutions.

  • Manage firewall policies, rulesets, and configurations to balance security and operational needs.
  • Experience and understanding of zero-trust architecture principles.
  • Administer and optimize Hyper-V virtualization platforms and related server infrastructure.
  • Help with deploying, configuring, and managing ESET Protect for endpoint security, including policy enforcement and monitoring.
  • Oversee enterprise-wide patching processes and coordinate vulnerability management activities (scanning, prioritization, remediation, and reporting).
  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and other related identity and access management services.
  • Implement and manage encryption technologies at both the server level (e.g., ESET Encryption) and folder/file level.
  • Develop, test, and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Perform root-cause analysis for incidents, outages, and security events; implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 27001 and NIST SP 800-53 security controls and frameworks.
  • Support NERC-CIP compliance efforts (direct experience is a strong plus).
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the IT team on infrastructure updates, projects, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings expertise in networking and firewall technologies, Microsoft server environments, identity management, encryption, vulnerability management, and disaster recovery. Experience in regulated or critical infrastructure environments is highly valued. Must be highly organized, able to prioritize workloads, and keep a clean and presentable work area., * 5-7+ years of progressive hands-on experience in network and systems administration, with at least 2-3 years in a senior or Level 3 role.

  • Strong expertise in networking fundamentals, routing protocols, switching technologies, and firewall management (experience with Fortinet or similar platforms preferred).
  • Solid hands-on experience with Hyper-V, Active Directory, and Group Policy in enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with server-level and folder-level encryption technologies.
  • Experience with centralized endpoint protection platforms (ESET Protect experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong background in vulnerability management, patch management, and system hardening.
  • Experience developing and executing disaster recovery strategies and testing.
  • Working knowledge of information security frameworks, ISO 27001 and NIST SP 800-53 is a plus.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills for complex, multi-system environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical processes and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience in environments subject to NERC-CIP standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
